About

This blog is a reflection of my journey through motherhood, personal finance, self-development, and intentional living. I share gentle, beginner-friendly insights to help women, especially stay-at-home mums build financial confidence, create more freedom and security, and live a calmer, more meaningful life.

My Journey

I wanted time freedom — not as an escape, but as a way to live more intentionally.

Hi, I’m Karma! A stay-at-home mum from the UK sharing simple, beginner-friendly guidance on money, investing, motherhood, self-development, and creating a more intentional life.

I created Mindful Money & Self Development to support women who want more clarity, confidence, and freedom in both life and finances while still living a balanced and meaningful life, without complicated jargon or unrealistic advice.

For most of our lives, many decisions are shaped by financial pressure. Whether one can retire early, travel abroad to visit a sick relative, or leave a toxic environment is often deeply influenced by money. While money alone does not bring happiness, it can solve many problems and create more security, freedom, and choice. I believe this is especially important for women, as women are often more financially vulnerable due to their role as primary caregivers.

For a long time, I felt uncomfortable with the idea of constantly exchanging time for survival. I believe life should be lived with purpose, curiosity, and the freedom to pursue the things that genuinely matter to us. But when we are constantly living in survival mode, it becomes difficult to make space for our passions, wellbeing, relationships, and personal growth. To me, financial freedom is not about luxury or status. It is about creating more time, choice, peace, and independence.

I didn’t always know how to change that reality.

Everything shifted the day I came across a book called I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. I almost dismissed it the moment I saw the word “rich” because, to me, wealth was associated with greed, excess, or wanting more than necessary. But I decided to keep an open mind and listen to a different perspective. To my surprise, the book completely changed how I viewed money and investing. For the first time, I understood that ordinary people, even those without a finance background could learn to invest safely, build long-term wealth through index funds, and take control of their financial future without relying on expensive financial advisors. It was a real eye-opener, and I’m grateful I didn’t let my assumptions stop me from learning something that would positively shape my life.

As I continued learning, I began to see finances not just as numbers, but as something deeply connected to our habits, mindset, emotions, and sense of security. To me, financial literacy is a life skill that can create more peace, confidence, and opportunity.

I’m also a proud mother of a boy and a girl, and teaching them healthy money habits feels as important as teaching kindness, responsibility, and self-respect.

This space is where I share the lessons, reflections, and practical ideas that continue to shape my life.

If you value progress over perfection and want a calmer, more thoughtful approach to growth, finances, and everyday life, you’re in the right place.

I’ve also created an ebook called Quiet Wealth from the perspective of a stay-at-home mum to another woman or mum who is just beginning to learn about personal finance and investing in a simple and approachable way.

I have also created The UK Money Accounts Guide to help beginners understand the different types of savings, investing, pension, and children’s accounts available in the UK, what they are used for, and how they can support long-term financial security and growth.

Thank you for being here — I’m glad our paths crossed.
